Kent Integrated Care Alliance is delighted to celebrate KiCA Board Member and social care leader Umbreen David, who was recently invited to attend The King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
The invitation marks a very special moment for Umbreen, Managing Director of the Hoama Group and owner of Iden Manor Nursing Home in Staplehurst, Kent. It recognises not only her personal leadership journey, but her continued contribution to social care, local community life and values-led entrepreneurship.
For KiCA, it is also a proud moment for the wider Kent and Medway care sector. Umbreen has spent her career building, leading and investing in care services that support older people, people living with dementia and those with complex nursing needs. Through Iden Manor, and through her wider work developing future specialist care provision in Kent and Medway, she has remained focused on improving outcomes for residents, supporting families, creating local employment and championing the role of care providers within their communities.
Over the past year, Umbreen’s work has received growing national recognition. She was named the overall winner of the Stelios Award for Disabled Entrepreneurs, an honour that celebrated her achievements asa business leader and entrepreneur. She has also received international recognition through the Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, where she was awarded Silver for Best Female Entrepreneur.
As a KiCA Board Member, Umbreen brings an important provider voice to the alliance. Her experience spans frontline care, business leadership, workforce development, innovation, disability leadership and community engagement.
She is also a strong advocate for the importance of collaboration across the sector. Through KiCA, providers across Kent and Medway work together to share knowledge, influence improvement and strengthen the voice of adult social care across the county. Umbreen’s invitation to Buckingham Palace is therefore more than an individual milestone. It is a reminder of the value and impact of social care leadership in Kent and Medway.
At a time when the sector continues to face significant pressures, stories like Umbreen’s help shine a light on the ambition, professionalism and humanity that exists across care. They show that care providers are not only delivering essential services, but also creating employment, supporting communities, driving innovation and changing lives.
KiCA would like to warmly congratulate Umbreen on this very special honour. Her recognition is richly deserved, and we are proud to have her as part of the KiCA Board.
