A message from KiCA Chair Ann Taylor
Following this year’s KiCA Annual Conference, I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who attended, contributed, sponsored, exhibited and supported the day.
It was fantastic to see so many providers in the room, fully engaged in the conversations that matter most to our sector. Unsurprisingly, there was a strong focus on the CQC, with providers keen to understand the direction of travel, what regulatory change means in practice, and how we continue to navigate expectations with confidence.
There was also honest discussion around the wider national picture, particularly following recent change within government and the loss of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. At a time when social care needs stability, clarity and recognition, it is understandable that providers are watching developments closely.
However, what stood out throughout the day was not just concern, but also a real sense of engagement, resilience and possibility. Speakers and providers explored the importance of stronger working relationships and the conference showed once again the value of bringing the sector together.
Overall, it was a very positive day. There was energy in the room, thoughtful discussion, and a clear shared commitment to supporting high-quality care across Kent and Medway.
Ann.
A packed day of insight, connection and sector updates
KiCA’s Annual Conference brought together care providers from across Kent and Medway for a full and engaging day of keynote speakers, practical updates, networking and sector discussion.
With around 200 providers in the room, the event created an important opportunity for the sector to come together, hear from both national and local voices, and reflect on some of the biggest issues currently facing social care.
Throughout the day, speakers explored key topics including the Employment Rights Bill, CQC updates, recruitment and retention, legal considerations, local authority updates, provider support and the wider direction of the sector.
There was also plenty of time for providers to connect with one another, meet KiCA sponsors and other organisations exhibiting on the day, and share experiences with colleagues from across the care community.
The conference was a valuable opportunity for providers to access policy insight, practical guidance and local updates, while also taking time to network, ask questions and be part of important sector conversations.
With keynote speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and providers all under one roof, the day highlighted the value of bringing the care sector together to stay informed, connected and involved.
Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, exhibited and supported the event.
