Mock CQC Inspections from RCP Care Quality Consultants

Since leaving CQC as social care Inspector after 13 years in 2015 I have been working as an independent consultant. Prior to that I was a senior operational manager managing care services. I act as a critical friend. Supporting services with audits and mock CQC inspections and help with new service registrations.

If you are a manager or owner of a health or social care service you will want to ensure that your team can professionally manage any situation they might face and meet compliance with the legislation with which you need to comply with.

Services are fraught with difficulties because of the constant regulatory and practice changes; therefore, why not consult with our highly experienced ex CQC professionals.

As a recommended KiCA sponsor I can provide independent auditing, professional guidance, risk assessments, and action planning and implementation to ensure CQC compliance.

Here is an outline of the ways I can help your organisation.

Care Provider / Care Home Compliance Audits – Regulation 17 imposes a duty on all care providers and care homes to undertake regular audits. I will produce an independent audit report that will help you as a registered provider to become aware of your strengths and limitations in regards to regulatory compliance. I will provide you with peace-of-mind that you’ll welcome by undertaking those vital regular audits.

CQC Inspections and Enforcement – Whether you require our expert support “pre”, “during” or “post” a CQC inspection or enforcement action we can help. I will ensure that you are always ready to undergo any CQC inspections and will provide the recommendations and support required to rectify any shortfalls that do occur.

I can support and guide you through the CQC regulations and fundamental standards. I understand that it is difficult to not only concentrate on day-to-day management issues but also to always be up-to-date with the changes to the law or care practice, therefore, our can offer you informative and relevant training, support and direction in this key area.

An often fundamental weakness during CQC inspections is medication management, are your internal policy, procedures and processes fit for purpose, compliant with the regulations and safeguarding all those involved? Care planning – are your internal assessments in-line with current person centred care planning requirements, do they demonstrate due-diligence, and are they updated and compliant with CQC regulations, standards and the Data Protection Act? Are your residents (service users, customers) needs thorough and fully documented?

The review of your care service will use the five key questions; asked by the CQC, as a general framework. These are: ‘Is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led?’ In addition, care files will be reviewed and staff and clients will be spoken with where possible.I can also offer:Mock CQC Inspections following the CQC methodology
